Photo recap

It almost seems to be that my blogging life peaks when all my assignments are due.
Quite simply, I mean that I find myself blogging as a form of procrastination (alongside with my house cleaning, dish-washing, room-vacuuming, leaf raking ways).

So here we are, yet again, seven assignments to go and a sudden surge in numbers of tweets and blogposts.

One of the major events I attended recently was Fashion Connect 2011, organised by OC Communication & Events, which ran in conjunction with Melbourne Spring Fashion Week. Held at The Carlton and hosted by celebrity stylist Amber Renee, Fashion Connect was a spectacular display of experimental and avant-garde fashion in the Melbourne scene. Fashion bloggers, stylists, photographers, designers, models and the who's who's of the industry gathered in a social networking atmosphere, sipping abundantly on Cocoabella water and delighting over Trampoline mini ice-cream cones.

Pocketto Magazine Launch

Fashion heads, boxes of magazines and copious amounts of Gypsy cider filled out No Vacancy Gallery to celebrate the launch of Pocketto Magazine's first print edition. Pocketto Magazine is the brainchild of two young creative geniuses, Emma Do and Aimee-Han.
The beautiful white bound, hard-cover magazines captured the awe of all attendants, each flicking through the delicate pages as if it were the Holy Bible. Free from advertising material, 'in-trend' clothing and trashy celebrity paparazzi photos, Pocketto magazine stands out as a time-less magazine which will never become outdated. Beautiful photography, combined with creative styling, quirky illustrations and interview bliss (including the likes of Kimbra) are the centerpiece of Pocketto - and is sure to be the reason for their success.
I had the privilege of being the girl 'manning the desk' for magazine-sales on the night, and may I say - they sold so well! If you missed your copy of Pocketto Magazine, be sure to purchase one here

Sorry I wish the video was kind of bigger, but unfortunately Vimeo keeps it's pre-formatted size. Irregardlessly, - enjoy!

FINSK

With another lecture well spent browsing on solestruck.com, I came upon this foot-wear label which has simply left me with my jaw dropped (and potentially with my bank account emptied).
London based label Finsk is the brainchild of Julia Lundsten, who has become increasingly popular for her architectural footwear and unique directional style.
Each pair of Finsk's adorns a variety of bold colours, cut-out wooden wedge heels, geometric detailing, and are crafted from textural leather fabrics. While some designs may be a little less 'wearable' than others, wow they would be equally as worthwhile simply just sitting on a shelf in my bedroom looking pretty.

Gaze, gasp, lust, *click*, purchase!

First outfit of the day

My first outfit of the day: Bit of a rushed morning choice for a easy day at uni.

Pastel pink trousers from Sportsgirl, scallop detailing white blouse from Jorge and white cut-out shoulder blazer from Mink Pink. The necklace and (non-visible) ring is from Lovissa, brown leather shoes from a vintage store down Greville St, and brown suede bag from Camberwell Markets but originally from Dangerfield.

Windsor Rain

Of the million reasons why I love the Public Relations course at RMIT, I think the fact that everyone is so well dressed definitely takes the cake. Even for early 9:30 am starts (yes, we do consider that early according to the average student body-clock), the Media and Comm students always seem to pull their outfits off with effortless style.

Often I wonder if I spend more time people watching on my lunch breaks than I do studying.
The lovely Kyle has captured everyone's style on his blog Windsor Rain, snapping up the highlights of uni life at Bowen Street. Visit his blog here.
